5 ways to up your productivity
Working smart – not hard – means getting the right output from the percentage – not amount – of time you dedicate to tasks. Don’t feel bad when you take a break to reset and recharge your brain.
These are our top 5 ways to increase productivity guilt-free
- Move from A-B If you’ve been in the office, go out and take a walk. If you’ve been on the road, stop and grab a cool drink or some water.
- Exercise Do a few pushups or adopt the plank position for 30 to 60 seconds to build core strength. Sound too strenuous? Stretching is also good.
- Step away from the screen Do something that does not involve screen time on any device. If you don’t feel like you can concentrate better after your break, you haven’t done enough to change your behavior.
- Time yourself A break is only five to 10 minutes. Set alarms on your mobile phone if this helps remind you to rest a bit.
- Don’t wait Take that scheduled break before you feel like you need it, because then it’s too late.
Once you establish a routine of regularly taking short breaks you’ll find that you feel more creative, productive and motivated.
